Ajrakh is a unique form of block printing found mostly in Sindh, Pakistan. These shawls display special designs and patterns made using block printing by stamps. A similar Ajrakh type of shawl, Sajarak is found in South Punjab of Pakistan. Block printing is a very old textile craft of Gujarat. One such block printing craft is Ajrakh printing sarees. This printing skill came to Gujarat from Sindh. Ajrakh Sarees display arcadian rustic motifs inspired by the universe printed across a variety of materials, with Chanderi and Modal Sarees.
